I am in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia it is fairly comfortable here being a temperate climate most of the year round, and I will show you places to visit in Brisbane first port of call is Roma street railway station, next station going north Central station, this stop is the CBD central business district, Post Office square is nearby at 239 Adelaide street BNE 4000, food and shopping, and just a short walk is Botanical gardens and Brisbane river boardwalk, all close by the CBD, just a short train ride away at Kelvin Grove is La Boite theatre it is a drama club they hold theatre nights if you’re interested, ticketing@laboite.com.au, 6 Musk avenue 4059. Also Brisbane exhibition is in august.
Half an hour by train on the Shorncliffe line is Boondall entertainment centre here they have rock concerts and events and it is in a parklands setting with a dam and the parklands are ideal for picnics. There is a few tourist attractions around Brisbane but they’re about an hour drive and if you’re backpacking you may want to stick to train travel it is cheaper. Queensland has a small amount of train journeys available going out West to Longreach and up North to Cairns they have overnight carriages and dining aboard the train also backpackers have many hostels throughout Queensland to stay in most towns have a hostel. You can buy a basic meal for around $15 that pleases the appetite, you would have to check at the time for accommodation prices. I suggest doing your research on each location before travelling.
